  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment.
  • Commitment to cultural competence, diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery.
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations governing the provision of physical therapy services in schools (e.g., IDEA, ADA).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, educators, and other professionals.
  • Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in a school or pediatric clinic setting.
  • Certification in School Physical Therapy (optional, but preferred).
  • Current state license or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist.
  • Master's degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and relevant communication with stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and support to teachers and staff on techniques and strategies to promote students' motor development and physical well-being in the classroom environment.
  • Monitor students' progress regularly and adjust intervention strategies as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to integrate therapy goals into the students' educational plans.
  • Provide direct physical therapy services to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 plans.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' motor skills, mobility, strength, and coordination challenges.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate students' physical abilities, limitations, and needs.
